How ideas spread like the flu and how to catch them

Harvard Medical School professor Nicholas Christakis presents an intriguing TED video about network science – an emerging field connecting sociology, medicine and statistics. By studying networks one can predict the spread of disease, information, trends and more – might we be able to use it to predict trends in courses and majors?
